About me

Painting has always been central to my life: I grew up surrounded by family paintings, and my mother, who painted, encouraged me to do the same. Four years at university where I studied Fine Arts and three years in Europe gave me an appreciation of many different forms and expressions of art and taught me to respect the skills involved.

I live in a very beautiful country, Zimbabwe. For me its beauty is made all the more fragile and poignant by the terrible dysfunctional times we are living through where simply everything we know and love is under threat of destruction.

I attempt to capture the passing moment, light falling, movement, water, all representing constant flux and change, a dynamic world. It is that process of inevitable change, the accumulation of chaotic events, that gives me hope and I would rather use that as my subject matter than the process of destruction.

I am not concerned with style. I believe that like handwriting one’s individuality is expressed naturally.
